Our department offers an undergraduate program in which text, directorial, and dramaturgy practices, which have been in constant contact with each other since the first quarter of the 20th century, are handled as a dynamic whole. After the first four semesters with emphasis on theatre history and theory, conventional dramaturgy, and dramatic writing practices, in the last four semesters, a program in which text, direction, and dramaturgy practices are handled as a creative, intellectual, and dynamic process awaits students in accordance with the nature of contemporary performances. Beginning from the fifth semester, in addition to the compulsory courses for direct text, direction, and dramaturgy practices such as Contemporary Stage-New Dramaturgy, Contemporary Playwriting-New Text, the program is accompanied by compulsory courses such as Dissolves in Modern Drama, Post-dramatic Theory, and Performance Theory, in the axis of theatre history, theory, and aesthetics. Acting Theories, Literary Theories, Story Writing, Western Mythology, Contemporary Art Discussions, Stage Practice, Mimesis and Representation, Performative Aesthetics, Theatre in the Digital Age, Theatre of Images, Writing of texts for Film Design, etc. that can be taken from the third semester. Elective courses such as the performing arts are offered to students in a wide and interdisciplinary range in accordance with the ever-expanding periphery of the performing arts field.
