Within the Performing Arts Department, there are two main divisions: Dramatic Writing and Dramaturgy, and Theatre.
The Division of Dramatic Writing and Dramaturgy carries out scientific research, interpretation, criticism, and application activities related to dramatic writing and dramaturgy. It aims to present a contemporary, innovative, interdisciplinary education model, which aims to produce original research and methodologies related to national and international theoretical discussions and practices, in which conventional and contemporary approaches specific to both fields are evaluated with an objective view, and thus, it aims to develop field-specific research activities.
The Division of Theatre carries out scientific research, interpretation, criticism, and application activities in the field of theatre. To pursue a contemporary, critical and interdisciplinary perspective in studies focused on theatre and performance studies, theatre directing and acting; In addition, it is aimed to create an education model that will contribute to the theatre activities in Turkey at an academic and practical level.
